譬如石中有火，珠中有財。我等凡夫，近如睫毛，遠如虛空，均所不能見。 我等心內雖有佛在，不能知之。

譬如石中有火，珠中有財一樣。我們凡夫不能見到眼睫之近與虛空之遠的事物，所以不能知曉在我們內心有佛這件事。
For example, flint has the potential to produce fire, and gems have intrinsic value. We ordinary people can see neither our own eyelashes, which are so close, nor the heavens in the distance. Likewise, we do not see that the Buddha exists in our own hearts.
